Tom and Kay Willy recently received an award from the US Army for 20 years patriotic service as volunteer sponsors for international military students at the US Army Command and General Staff College, Fort Leavenworth, Kan. As chair of the Children’s Mercy Hospital Planned Giving Council, Mindy Ward was recently invited to participate in the Discover Children’s Mercy Program, which is a one day, behind the scenes look for business and community leaders at the care and teaching programs at the hospital. She was treated to one-on-one rotations with pediatric subspecialists, nurses and other providers in areas such as surgery, hematology/oncology, neonatal intensive care, and emergency medicine.
