Tom Bradshaw was born and raised in St. Louis by Irish immigrant parents. He came to Kansas City to attend college at Rockhurst and UMKC Law School. He married while in college and has six children. Tom has been a trial lawyer his entire career, starting with seven years as Assistant Federal Public Defender. His practice now focuses on trial work in business cases, about half of which are defense of white collar crime matters. Over the years he has worked on cases involving antitrust price fixing; securities fraud; violations of federal election laws and federal trade commission, federal communication commission and environmental regulations; and prosecuting and defending trademark violation claims. This experience has resulted in him being retained to help businesses prepare compliance programs, investigate unauthorized access to company computers, and to consult with officers and directors to respond to federal and state investigative demands and grand jury subpoenas and shareholder complaints. Tom’s passionate about quail and pheasant hunting, soccer (especially the U.S. Men’s National Team) and helping those who cannot afford to pay for legal representation receive justice and fairness in our legal system. For several years, Tom has worked with other volunteer attorneys and non-attorneys to provide legal services to inner city residents through The Neighborhood Justice Center, a free legal clinic he founded to serve the urban core in Kansas City.
