Kansas City Law Firm Shares Do’s and Don’ts for Workplace Holiday Parties

Van Osdol News December 23, 2015

Do’s and Don’ts for Workplace Holiday Parties With the holiday party season upon us, there are some legal considerations that should be observed when hosting or attending a holiday party in the workplace. While we don’t mean to dampen anyone’s holiday spirit, please keep the following in mind during this time of year: Screen Shot 2015-12-23 at 3.44.39 PM Photo Credit: Local 10   Things to avoid:

  1. Resist the urge to hang mistletoe
  2. Limit alcohol service
  3. No one needs to sit on Santa’s lap
  4. No posting on social media

  Do:

  1. Showcase a diversity of food and events
  2. Celebrate the end of the year with seasonal, but non-religious décor
  3. Encourage employees to bring family members to the event
  4. Ensure that attendance to the event is voluntary
  5. Take a moment to reflect on the great things and great people who enrich your life at the office

And most of all – have a happy holiday season and a prosperous and healthy new year!
