Do’s and Don’ts for Workplace Holiday Parties With the holiday party season upon us, there are some legal considerations that should be observed when hosting or attending a holiday party in the workplace. While we don’t mean to dampen anyone’s holiday spirit, please keep the following in mind during this time of year: Photo Credit: Local 10 Things to avoid:
- Resist the urge to hang mistletoe
- Limit alcohol service
- No one needs to sit on Santa’s lap
- No posting on social media
Do:
- Showcase a diversity of food and events
- Celebrate the end of the year with seasonal, but non-religious décor
- Encourage employees to bring family members to the event
- Ensure that attendance to the event is voluntary
- Take a moment to reflect on the great things and great people who enrich your life at the office
And most of all – have a happy holiday season and a prosperous and healthy new year!
