Thinking Bigger Business Magazines Publishes Van Osdol & Magruder Article

Van Osdol News August 9, 2014

tbb-hdr-logo The Van Osdol & Magruder article about companies transitioning in ownership, written by Bob Beachy, chief strategic officer at Van Osdol & Magruder, was published this month. Thank you Thinking Bigger Business Magazine for publishing the piece. Today when many small businesses are sold, it is often under the terms that the former owner stays on staff, as either a consultant or an employee, in order to help with the transition. Bob Beachy, chief strategic officer of Van Osdol & Magruder, shared his personal experience about how a company can incorporate a former owner while moving in a new direction, and how to make a smooth transition. Small business owners often view their companies as their “babies” according to Beachy. When a company grows up and “marries” a new owner there’s a chance it could not be a good fit. Beachy suggests the former owners sit back and keep quiet unless asked to give input. Like any parenting decision, the best interest of the child, or in this case the company, should be the bases of all decisions.
