Step into Sporting Park during any home game and you will hear the familiar chant from the ardent supporters of Sporting Kansas City, “I Believe That We Will Win.” And with the recent success of the team, their chant often proves true. What lurks beneath the chant, however, is a growing army of some of the most dedicated sports fans in the country known as The Cauldron.

The Cauldron has been growing for over 10 years. But that growth accelerated after the rebranding of the team and the opening of the new stadium just a couple years ago. Today, with over 2,000 dues-paying members, the support group is taking legal steps to protect its future.
As a social group dedicated to supporting SKC and also fellow members, the group recognized that non-profit status could help it further its goals. However, as many business owners understand, growing and instituting “corporate formalities” can cause pains. Together, Van Osdol attorneys and The Cauldron leadership are seeking to create enough structure to help the new non-profit operate day to day and to grow from year to year, without so much structure that it takes away from the fun and exciting nature of being part of such an organic, ground-up, organization.
The Cauldron plans to incorporate as many smaller support groups as soon as possible, giving each representation on the new Cauldron General Assembly. Together with annually elected Directors and Officers, as well as an anticipated non-profit exemption, The Cauldron is poised to continue its impressive growth alongside one of the best MLS teams in the country.
The attorneys at Van Osdol & Magruder are excited to work with such a fun group of soccer fans. If you want to support The Cauldron, visit its website, spread the word about the group and if you want a unique sporting experience, buy a ticket on their website for the Members Stand and join in the chant – “I Believe That We Will Win!”
