Back in the late sixties when our partner Bob Redmond helped Lawrence A. Jones, Sr. get financing for the start of Lawrence A. Jones Mortuary Inc., a person might not have predicted that it would become one of the largest African-American owned businesses in Kansas City.
Over the years a lot has changed. The company is now managed by Lindsay E. Jones, who has his MBA degree and is still an active minister. Lindsay is a second generation of the family in the business and he says it is still growing even though it is already the leading African American funeral home in town. The relationship has been a valued one for both our client and us, spanning six decades. Lindsay says, “Van Osdol has provided us with excellent service in business, personal, tax and estate planning matters through four generations of our family.” On the other side of the ledger, Bob Beachy, chief strategic officer at Van Osdol & Magruder said, “Representing the Jones family has been one of the most rewarding and delightful experiences of my career.”
