Here is a recent article from the Kansas City Business Journal, written by Aly Van Dyke, about a local animal health company, Boehringer Ingelheim Vetmedica opening a new administrative building in Saint Joseph, Missouri.
Boehringer Ingelheim Vetmedica will start new administrative building
Boehringer Ingelheim Vetmedica Inc., an animal health pharmacy company, plans to break ground on a new administrative building Thursday in St. Joseph. Boehringer Ingelheim’s new administrative building will house 300 employees, including some new hires, spokesman Dan Nowalk said in a release. Currently, employees work at different locations in the city. Hires will reflect organic growth, Boehringer spokeswoman Cory Sullivan said. She said the building will measure about 100,000 square feet, but exact costs have not yet been determined. St. Joseph-based Boehringer Ingelheim is part of the Kansas City Animal Health Corridor, which extends from Columbia, Mo., to Manhattan, Kan., and is considered by some to be the largest concentration of animal health interests in the world. “This consolidation will help our employees become better connected,” Nowalk said in the release. “We’ll be able to walk across the hall to discuss a project or walk across campus to talk to our (research and development) and operations colleagues. This has been in the works for many years — this new building has been a vision for BI Vetmedica and BI Animal Health globally.”
